Rapid antigen test
A rapid antigen test checks the mucus in your nose for proteins from SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. With this test, you get results in just 15 minutes.
Rapid polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test
A PCR test checks your nose or throat swab for the virus's genetic material. PCR tests are the most reliable way to determine whether you have COVID-19. You’ll typically receive rapid PCR test results in 12 hours, and lab PCR tests take 1-2 days.
Antibody test
An antibody test checks your blood for antibodies that fight COVID-19. A positive antibody test generally indicates that you either had the virus sometime in the past or that you had a COVID-19 vaccination. This test doesn’t detect a current infection.

Do I need a doctor’s order for COVID-19 testing?
You don’t need a doctor’s order for COVID-19 testing because the practice issues the order on-site in most cases. But, in some cases, you may bring in orders from your physician, for example, if your doctor ordered a test before a medical procedure.
